OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Like so many health organizations, HCC has spent the past year learning about the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, processing what this pandemic means for our staff, clients, and the communities we serve, and adjusting to a new way of life.

Many of our colleagues, clients, neighbors, and friends are more vulnerable to COVID-19 because of underlying chronic conditions, homelessness, undocumented or uninsured statuses, especially within communities of color. Our communities need more care in the face of this pandemic and depend on our extra help. For HCC, this means changing the way we work to keep our communities safer and healthier.

We’re all in this together, and we are committed to keeping essential services open to provide for those most in need. Therefore, HCC has suspended some services and changed the hours of other services until further notice.

STOP THE SPREAD!
Let us help you schedule your vaccine appointment today!

Vaccines are the best protection we have against COVID-19. No matter how old you are, COVID-19 can lead to hospitalization, long-term health issues and death. Even if you had COVID-19, it is important to get vaccinated because it lowers your risk of getting COVID-19 again and may prevent you from passing it on to others.  Please call 718-940-2200 ext. 145 if you need help with scheduling your vaccine appointment, or email: twalker@hccinc.org

Though face-to-face meetings are limited, we are still working with our clients to make sure they get what they need during the isolation period. From Housing to 340B pharmacy, our programs are continuing to operate remotely, connecting clients to care, stability, fitness and mental health.

*Anyone entering the building must wear a face mask. If they do not have a face mask, one will be provided upon entry, and a temperature check will be implemented upon arrival. Everyone is encouraged to maintain social distance while in the facility and we have signs on our doors which lists the rules for maintaining safety. Also, we are stepping up on all facility cleaning efforts, working to ensure that our essential services can go on without interruption, while additionally considering the safety and security of our staff, clients, and other community members. All of our messaging and promotional efforts around the pandemic protocols and now the recent race war that is taken place all over the world, are being supported through weekly and daily social media engagement postings and advertisements to keep all of our followers and supporters informed and educated.
