BEING INVOLVED GREATLY LIVING IN VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTS!
TBL builds towards the development and cultivation of the urban community by educating the youth on relevant statistics and moral decision making. If the youth are aware of the statistics through a medium they can relate to, TBL can effectively reduce recidivism while encouraging youth achievement.
TBL uses a realistic approach aimed at creating awareness of the many challenges that face inner-city youth. Using credible messengers, TBL’s motivational seminars offer testimonials to high school students and provide a pragmatic outlook on present-day issues that face them through this pivotal period in their lives.
TBL is actively developing a reality series which streams on the program’s website, THEBIGLIVE.COM. Documenting these motivational seminars, TBL acquires video footage in order to produce individual web-episodes, documenting students’ reactions and feedback and the positive impact this program has on the community.
LOWDOWN ON LOCKDOWN
Lowdown on Lockdown (LDLD) tackles the issue of incarceration. The motivational speaker for this campaign is the epitome of positive youth development. Tyshawn Boyce is a young African American male from South Queens who was formerly incarcerated for 5 years. Tyshawn offers credible testimonials of his day-to-day activities while being incarcerated and the effects his incarceration had on family and friends. With Tyshawn, TBL has provided the LDLD campaign to middle high schools, high schools, GED Equivalency schools and has provided field assistance in several community programs.
